Do the Needful SOUL WORK

Over the last number of weeks we've been going through the Book of Romans line by line, word by word, precept by precept. The practical application sometimes gets lost in the overwhelming avalanche of Biblical truths and life principles. In this week's lesson we take a brief departure from the Book of Romans to do a physical and spiritual check-up to see what adjustments need to be made to our diet and overall health, both physically and spiritually. Our souls, our bodies, our hearts, our lives and minds matter to God and should to us as well. "Doing the Needful Soul Work" What story will our physical and spiritual check-ups tell us as the Body of Christ? Soul Sickness is curable if we are willing to take the right medicines. Bring it Home as you Listen for LIFE!

“Putting Sin to Death: from Principle to Practice” Part Three

Not all slavery is bad. Now there's a controversial statement! The Apostle Paul referred to himself as the writer of Scripture in many of his New Testament books as a slave of Jesus Christ. Romans chapter 6: suggests we are either a slave of Satan and of sin or we are a slave of righteousness and of God as our Master and LORD. We have already been given victory over sin. Claiming it, living in it, choosing to experience it is something else entirely. The old illustration of Fact: the Steam Engine, Faith: the Coal Car and Feeling: the Caboose serves as an excellent reminder of how we must choose to Know the Truth, Reckon it to be fact by faith and then to choose to yield our feelings and members to the truth by faith. When we climb out of the caboose of feelings and into the engine of faith we begin to see spiritual progress as we collect momentum in our life of faith. This week's message is part three in "Putting Sin to Death: from Principle to Practice" (The Doctrine of Sanctification in Practice - YIELD) Romans 6:15-23 Bring it Home as you Listen for LIFE!

Putting Sin to Death: from Principle to Practice Part Two

This week's message from the heart of God is: "Putting Sin to Death: From Principle to Practice" (The Doctrine of Sanctification in Practice - RECKON) From Romans 6:18,19. This message from Pastor Pete is the nuts and bolts of putting sin to death in our practice. We may know what's right and even believe what's right but how do we practically put sin to death in our practice. Perfect makes practice! Listen for Life as we Bring it Home!

“Putting Sin to Death: From Principle to Practice”

Most everyone has an excuse for their behavior. What's yours? Honestly, we have no excuse. Our sin lies at our own front door. We have no one else to blame but ourselves and our fallen, depraved human nature. Good News: We can have victory over our sin! The victory can only come through Christ's death, burial and resurrection. If we are IN CHRIST we have already been given the victory over our sin and the power of Satan and death. We must know the truth, reckon it to be fact and by faith yield ourselves to what God, in Christ Jesus, has already accomplished on the cross of Calvary. This is Good News Indeed for every true believer in Christ. Bring it Home as you Listen for LIFE!

What Shall We Say Then?

Can you honestly say, like the Apostle Paul said, "I am the Chief of Sinners!?" Sin, like a cancer never stays isolated in one place, it's nature is to grow, spread and infect the entire body. How does a true believer who hates his or her sin gain the victory so desperately longed for? How can the cancer of sin be cut out once and for all? The key to spiritual victory is found in Romans 6: 7: and 8: Within these three amazing chapters we see the Doctrine of Sanctification: becoming like the Lord Jesus Christ thoroughly explained. This message serves as an overview of chapter 6: "What Shall We Say Then?" (Putting Sin to Death from Principle to Practice) Romans 6:1-23 Bring it Home as you Listen for LIFE!

The ONE Man- Jesus Christ – Part Two

In Christ we have a new identity and live in a new community. Romans 5:12-21 is an amazing section of Scripture clarifying the role of the Law of God in our salvation. One might think the giving of the law would act as a hindrance to all who break it. Just the opposite is true. Knowing the written law elicits within our fallen, sin nature a passion to break it, to dance on the line, to cross it as many times as we can without getting caught or charged. "Moreover the Law entered that the offense might abound." Romans 5:20 John MacArthur Jr. writes, "The only thing that is more powerful in the heart of God than His hatred of sin is His love for the sinner." Listen for LIFE!

The One Man: JESUS CHRIST

All I can say is, "WOW!" What a wonderful revelation of the work of God in our salvation. From our offense to Christ's grace. From our judgment and condemnation to Christ's Justification. From our disobedience to Christ's righteousness. From our sin and spiritual death to Christ's life. From the one man: Adam to the one Man: Jesus Christ. Are you thankful for your salvation? Are you saved? Let's bring it home and take it home as we Listen for LIFE!

The One Man ADAM

Surely there is someone we can blame for the mess we find ourselves in? Is there anyone we can lay all the blame on? Actually, there is and there isn't. Adam, the first man is to blame for original sin and our collective state. But you and I are also to blame for our own sin and the consequences that come intrinsically with it. The Apostle Paul moves his readers to a brilliant comparison between two men and their two directions and consequences. This week Pastor Pete shares "The One Man: Adam" (Adam and the Reign of Death) in Romans 5:12-15. In this section we will see Adam and the reign of Death, the reign of the Law, the reign of Christ and the reign of Grace. Bring it Home as we "Listen for Life!"
