“The Mighty Works of God”

This Week Pastor Pete will introduce you to a fundamental study in the doctrines of creation, and revelation. These two misunderstood doctrines are the very foundations of our faith and understanding of God and how things are supposed to work. If we get these two doctrines out of their proper Biblical and God centered alignment the fallout will have incalculable consequences. Psalm 19: written by the Psalmist David, speaks to the Creator and the Revelator. Creation clearly proclaims a Creator just as the revelation of the Biblical account and record clearly points to a Savior and an all sufficient sovereign God. The church in America has lost its moorings in large part because of the lost, forsaken and abandoned doctrines of Creation and Revelation. Bring it Home as you Listen for LIFE!

Fervent Prayers of a Soul Survivor

What do you do when under the gun? Where do you go when under great stress? Who do you turn to when at your wits end? These questions, and many more speak to the inevitable conflicts that come in trying to live our lives well. Whenever we seek to glorify God stuff happens and hits the proverbial fan. Often the difficulties and stresses of life are self-inflicted. We tend to bring much of the stress and turmoil of life upon ourselves. We can hardly play the victim card when our poor choices have taken us down. But when we do our utmost to live life well, giving God glory in all we do, and are still persecuted and brought low what do we do then? The Psalmist: David gives us some refreshing ideas from his own life experience from Psalm 17:1-15 Bring it Home as you Listen for LIFE!

Eternal Life for One Who Trusts

How does a person come to faith and experience true assurance of salvation? All of mankind is sure of their own goodness and have a self-righteousness that they expect will usher them into heaven and before the throne of God. The truth is "There is none righteous no not one." (Romans 3:10-18) The message from Psalm 16:1-11 is from the heart of King David and is an appeal to the lost to be found. The irony is that without exception all who are lost think they are already found and in fact not lost at all! How do you rescue someone lost if they don't think they are? It is God and God alone who chooses us, calls us, redeems us, forgives and pardons us, justifies and sanctifies and ultimately glorifies us. Unless God opens our eyes and ears to see and hear God's voice none of us will be saved. Pastor Pete teaches this week from Psalm 16: "Eternal Life for One Who Trusts." A Matter of Life and Death! Characteristics of the Godly

King David knew a little about what true righteousness and holiness looked like. He had just completed giving a concise explanation on what the characteristics of the godless looked like in Psalm 14: and now in Psalm 15: he gives the opposite synopsis on the characteristics of the Godly. In this week's message Pastor Pete teaches on what God inspects and inspects. Two honest questions from a holy God in verse one of Psalm 15: and then five honest answers from holy men and women on what God expects and inspects in verses two through six. Our character, our conversation, our relationships, our business concerns and our personal commitments are all an honest insight into true Christ like holiness. “Characteristics of the Godless”

This week as we come back to the study of the Psalms Pastor Pete unwraps Psalm 14: Verse one begins: "The fool has said in his heart there is no God." How do we as believers deal with unbelievers? The first thing we have to do is come to understand the fundamental difference in world views we have with them and vise versa. A Biblical perspective will go a long way in helping us deal with our unsaved friends, relatives, associates and neighbors. It is never our prerogative to call someone a fool, that is God's place, not ours. Unbelievers prove they are fools because of their unbelief and as a result their fallen and depraved choices in life.Sermon Title: "Characteristics of the Godless" (The Insanity of Depravity) Psalm 14: 1-7 Bring it Home as you Listen for LIFE!

From Sinking to Swimming

Psalm 13: seems like an unlikely song to be sung to the Lord. And yet, the Psalmist, not unlike you or me struggled with whether or not God was and is listening to our heart cry and watching our struggle here on earth. I love the psalms for their honesty and transparency. A universal weakness in all of us human beings is our impatience. We can tend to overdramatize the situation when we sing our pain aloud to anyone who will hear us. While we are being honest enough to tell Him the truth of our impatience could we, would we take a moment to consider that God does indeed care for each one of us as He does the sparrow. When we look back in time and consider all God has done for us, we should draw comfort that the same God who was there with us and for us in the past will be with us in the present and future. Our confidence cannot come from our feelings and circumstances but in an inner assurance of God's goodness and loving kindness. Let's Bring it Home as we Listen for Life!

The Moral Minority

Psalm 12:1-8 is a Psalm (Song) of David concerned with the state of the state of Israel and of society as a whole. Not unlike the situation today in America, David saw the wickedness of his own heart as well as those living in society all around him. What do you do when you witness a nation crumble and self-destruct? In this week's message Pastor Pete speaks on the subject of "The Moral Minority:" (How to Call a Wicked Nation Back to God) David answers the three questions in this Psalm: 1.) Where do we start? 2.) What must we do? and, 3.) How do we live? Does America have a prayer? What will become of us as a nation if things don't change soon? "America, Bless God!" Let's bring it home as we listen for LIFE!

If The Foundations Are Destroyed

What happens if the foundations are destroyed? In a house? in a marriage? In a church or business? In a nation? Someone said, "It is in man's extremities that we discover God's sufficiencies." What a comfort to know that in unsettling times even when the foundations of our faith, family and country are being threatened, compromised and even destroyed our confidence can remain steadfast and secure in Christ and His kingdom principles. We look to Psalm 11:1-7 to discover David's (Our) Trust, David's (Our) Temptation and ultimately, David's (Our) Triumph. Let's bring it home as we listen for life!

God’s Inevitable Triumph Over Evil

Psalm 9: and 10: historically belong together as one acronym of the Hebrew alphabet. In Psalm 10: we see the theme continued of the state of man and the desperate need we all have for God's righteous and just intervention. Does God hide, does He care, will He remember the weak and reject the wicked? With David we move in our emotional response to the state of our Nation and world with: 1.) David's Perplexity / Our Perplexity. (Psalm 10:1-11); 2.) David's Plea / Our Plea. (Psalm 10:12-15); 3.) David's Praise / Our Praise. (Psalm 10:16-18). Let's Bring It Home as we Listen for Life!

Praise for Victory Over Enemies!

For Memorial Day 2016 Pastor Pete shares from Psalm 9:1-20 1.) David's Praise / Freedom's Praise. (Psalm 9:1, 2); 2.) David's Proclamation / Freedom's Proclamation. (Psalm 9:3-12); 3.) David's Petition / Freedom's Petition. (Psalm 9:13-18); and 4.) David's Passion / Liberty's Passion. (Psalm 9:19, 20). Seeing our nation crumble morally, physically, politically and in every other measurable way we understand that only God can turn our nation around. Even in the midst of America's moral landslide we can take hope in the God of David. God will one day set all that is wrong right. He will defeat His enemies, He will give direction to the world, He will defend the oppressed and as a result He alone deserves our praise. We do have something to sing about as we give thought to the High King of Heaven and the Justice and Righteous rule He will one day guarantee. Until then we must persevere and bring the truth home as we Listen for LIFE!
