Themes for Spiritual Growth Part Two

Join us as Drew Paterson, Elder and Chaplain (US Army Reserves) concludes his message on Spiritual Growth. What it is, what it's not, and what it means to glorify God through our spiritual maturity.

Themes for Spiritual Growth Part One

The Westminster Catechism states that “The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.” Glorifying God is the reason why everything that was made was made. In this two-part study, we will look at glorifying God as being the master key to spiritual growth but also explore practical ways to glorify God. We glorify God when we live our lives commensurate to our position in Christ and, in doing so, our lives are transformed from one level of glory to the next level of glory; this is spiritual growth (2 Corinthians 3:18).

I Say “Yes, Lord!” Yes, to the MIND of Christ

As human beings, we often find it very difficult to be subservient to others; this is because our egos and pride get in the way. In Philippians 2, we are shown Christ’s kenosis, or emptying of Himself, where Jesus not only became a slave of God but also a slave of sinners! In this lesson, we will explore the “mind of Christ” as it is revealed in the Bible and how Jesus provides Christians a perfect model to become faithful, obedient and serving stewards.
