In this second installment of Psalm 23:1 we see ‘The Lord is my shepherd, I SHALL NOT WANT.” Some translators translate this thought as, “I shall not be in want.” Truly, one of the greatest of all sins is the dissatisfaction with who we are, with where we are, with what we have. The original sin in the garden of Eden essentially boiled down to the sin of coveting what Adam and Eve could not have, the forbidden fruit became their obsession of what they wanted the most, and as a result, sin entered the world and death by sin. How does the believer fight this inner craving for fulfillment and satisfaction? Could this quest be found right before us in the Person of Jesus Christ and His gospel of salvation?
