Paul’s Past and Present Passion

Paul's identity used to be wrapped up in all that (he thought) he was doing for God. After his conversion, his identity changed to who he was in Christ and an ever-growing passion for Him - from this, Paul did amazing things for Christ and His kingdom. OBJECTIVE: Like Paul, we can have an unwavering focus on Christ.

The Realities of Motherhood

Being a mother is not for the faint of heart. It is a high calling. It is a full-time job (on top of all the other non-mothering responsibilities). There are many realities that a mother undertakes that are often underappreciated or even unknown. This week’s message will discuss some of those realities. The first part of the message will deal with some of the general aspects of motherhood. The second half of the message will deal with some of the things that God expects of a mother, and what God expects of children in how they are to respond to their mother. Children of all ages will be encouraged to honor their mothers, and husbands will be charged to encourage their wives as mothers of their children.

Palm Sunday – Last Call for Salvation

God is not a God of second chances. Yes, you read it right: God is not a God of second chances. He is a God of third, fourth, fifth, and numerous chances. He is also a God of last chances. The account of the thief on the cross is one of the most amazing stories of the grace and mercy of God. The thief on the cross was running out of chances to be saved by Christ. He had one last chance and took it. Pastor Scott will preach a message entitled Last Call for Salvation this Palm Sunday.

I Say “Yes, Lord!” Yes to the MIssion of Christ

In 2 Corinthians chapters 8 and 9, Paul gives clear principles of being generous towards God. Paul lets believers in Christ know that giving back to God involves the following factors: Giving is sometimes sacrificial or inconvenient, certainly a privilege and responsibility, and always a blessing or benefit. Jesus led the way in showing a life of sacrifice and expects His followers to do the same, and sometimes even giving when it hurts. Giving back to the Lord is a true privilege because when you think about it, we get to give back to God, and it is a responsibility because ministries and advancing God’s kingdom cost money. When we give, God truly blesses our hearts here on earth with the joy of giving, and he rewards us eternally with heavenly rewards.

Contend for the Faith

Did you know the world has Christianity on trial so to speak? As Christians we are called to give a defense (apologetics) of Christianity without being offensive to the world - this is effective apologetics. Scripture states in Jude 3, “I found it necessary to write and exhort you to contend for the faith that was delivered to the saints once for all.” As John MacArthur states, There are the “two sides of apologetics: Defending the faith against attack, and presenting truth claims of Christianity to unbelievers.” Paul gave two statements to address these aspects of apologetics: Philippians 1:16, “I am appointed for the defense of the gospel,” and 1 Corinthians 9:16, “And woe to me if I do not preach the gospel.” Are you able to articulate why you believe what you believe? Listen as Pastor Scott shares observations from Stephen’s defense of Christianity in Acts 7.
