A Morning Prayer For Guidance

Pastor Pete returns this week to the series on the first book of Psalms 1-41. This week: Psalm 5: "A Morning Prayer for Guidance" (How to Get Ready, Get Set and Go) first thing in the morning. We must start our day being prayerful, being real and receiving with thanks God's blessings. We often get distracted first thing in the morning thinking about ourselves, our agenda, our needs and we forget to give God the first place in the best part of the new day. Along with the Psalmist this psalm, (song) is a wonderful exhortation to believers on how to start each new day. Listen for LIFE!

Goodness Gracious! Part Three

In Romans 3:18-20 Paul completes his thorough Doctrine of Condemnation. In these last few verses Paul summarizes the human condition as he has carefully explained from Romans 1:18-3:20. Mankind has no fear of God, therefore no desire to please or to worship God. We all stand Guilty as Charged before the Court of Heaven. "Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin." - Romans 3:20 Listen for LIFE!

Goodness Gracious! Part Two

Pastor Pete opens up the second of a three part mini series on the last section of the Doctrine of Condemnation from Romans 3:17-19. In these powerful verses the Apostle Paul unwraps the two heart conditions that expose the true spiritual depravity and fallenness of mankind: 1.) His Mouth and 2.) His Walk or Destination. The words of man condemn us because they come from the heart. Words start in the heart and move to the throat, dances on our tongues, rests on our lips and falls and runs from our mouths. The way and walk of man are swift to shed blood, misery and destruction are in their ways and the way of peace they have not known. Listen for LIFE!

Goodness Gracious!

Imagine standing in a courtroom with the Judge, Jury, Prosecuting attorney and you. You stand alone as the accused. You are your own witness, your own defense lawyer and your own support. No one is there to validate your claim of innocence. God is the Judge. God is the prosecuting attorney. God is the witness to your crimes of a life filled with sinful conduct and disobedience to the revealed will of God. The situation looks hopeless as the whole world stands guilty and condemned before the righteous and holy Judge. Before there can be a sentence from the Bench and a righteous verdict passed down we need to hear once again, from the Court Reporter the charge and the sentence hanging over all of our heads. This is the subject matter as we conclude the doctrine of Condemnation in Romans 3:9-20. Listen for LIFE!

“Let God Be True but Every Man a Liar”

Over the last number of months we have been examining Paul's systematic theology on the doctrine of Condemnation from Romans 1:17-3:20 In today's message Pastor Pete shares the last topic in this three part series on the Religious Sinner: "Let God Be True and Every Man a Liar" - The Religious Sinner - Part Three - Romans 2:17-3:8 What are the four questions God asks us through the pen of the Apostle Paul to help us come to grasps with the idea that our reason is reason enough, our goodness is good enough and lastly, our religion and self-righteousness is righteous enough? 1.) How has your religious privilege working for you? (2:25-3:2); 2.) How has God lied to you? (3:3,4); 3.) How has God been unjust to you? (3:5-7); 4.) How has your theology betrayed you? (3:8) Listen for LIFE!

“The Hardest NUT to Crack!”

In our study of the Book of Romans Pastor Pete has unwrapped the three different sinners Paul identifies in his doctrinal section on Condemnation from Romans 1:18-3:20. The Rational Sinner, the Reformed Sinner and lastly the most difficult to win to the gospel: the Religious Sinner. In this section, Romans 2:25-29, Paul answers six questions of interest to every person whether saved or lost: 1.) Why does Man's Religion Fail? 2.) How Does True Biblical Salvation Work? 3.) Who is Our Only Judge? 4.) What is True Biblical Salvation? 5.) Where Does True Faith Start? and lastly, 6.) When Will Believers Receive Their Eternal Reward? Listen for LIFE!

Sola Fide: Salvation is by Faith Alone

These past couple months, Pastor Pete has built a case against the rational and righteous sinners in the Book of Romans. These sinners believe that their behaviors are rational or righteous enough for justification by God. This Sunday, an introduction will be made to the third type of sinner, the religious sinner, who believes that s/he can be justified by their godly works. To be declared justified means to be declared "not guilty" before God. As we will see, Christians are justified solely by faith, which is a gift from God, and not works- lest any should boast. This message will primarily focus upon the texts of Galatians 2 and Philippians 3.

“A Weapon That Is Terrible to Behold”

With everything going on in the world today, it seems that Christians are losing the fight for humanity. There is no longer prayer in school, the Ten Commandments are being removed from court buildings, and marriage, a covenant with God, is being destroyed. How can Christians fight against this? Listen as we look at "A Weapon That Is Terrible To Behold."
