“April Fool’s” – (Fools and those who follow them) Selected Scriptures

On this Easter / Resurrection Sunday 2018 this Holy Day falls on an unlikely day of the year, April Fool’s Day. While it is indeed the orthodox, high holy day of the Christian Church it falls on a day reserved for pranks, jokes and laughter. This year’s Easter message will speak to the fool from […]

NT0667 Is There Unrighteousness with God? (The Doctrine of Election Rectified) Romans 9:14-24

Romans 9:14-24 speaks to the questions Paul's readers had and still have regarding the fairness questions we all struggle with. Is God fair? Does He have to be, especially speaking to our idea of what is fair and what is not? Paul answers seven questions in this section of Scripture that should lay to rest once and for all the issues the creation might have with their Creator. What shall we say then? At the end of the day we need to let our objections and questions rest in the goodness and impeccable, flawless character of God Himself in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Lesson Four Bibliology – A Question of Integrity

In this last installment of Bibliology we seek to educate the student with how to choose a reliable Bible version. We will look at how the Bible was copied down through the centuries. We will explain the difference between a word for word translation and a dynamic equivalence interpretation. Pastor Pete will give his recommendation […]

“What Difference Does It Make? The Doctrine of Election Clarified

We’ve all been quoted as having said these words: “What Difference Does it Make?” This is the title for this week’s message in the book of Romans 9:6-13. We embark upon a dangerous and treacherous journey of seeking to understand and comprehend the mind and heart of God when it comes to the subject of salvation. Where heretical teachings have risen is often around the subject of God’s will in choosing some to salvation, we call this the doctrine of Election. Pastor Pete and Family Bible Church’s prayer is that we rightly divide the Word of Truth and do no harm when seeking to preach the whole counsel of God. Just because we can’t seem to wrap our finite minds around these cardinal, doctrinal truths doesn’t mean they are somehow untrue and unnecessary for the right and proper exposition of the Scriptures. We will seek to answer four questions: 1.) What’s the difference? Verse Six, Who Qualifies? 2.) What’s the Use? Verse Seven, What’s Required? 3.) What’s the Matter? Verse Eight, Who’s Chosen? and 4.) What’s the Deal? Verses Nine through Thirteen, Who Chooses? Bring it Home as you Listen for LIFE!

Lesson Three: Bibliology 2018 – Canon and Integrity

Lesson Three: 2018 Bibliology – Canon and Integrity Pastor Pete will share with the class on why the Apocryphal books are not included in the Christian / Protestant Bible. He will also lead the class in a discussion on how we got our English Bibles, the difference between sources: Textus Receptus and the work of […]

” What in the World is God Doing?”

What in the World is God Doing? It may seem like God is indifferent and may have even dismissed the world and all of our sin and problems altogether. The Apostle Paul speaks to His work in salvation using as His example His covenant people of Israel, the Jewish people. No one group of people have been given so much, and yet, it seems as if with all of God's fervent work, little has been accomplished. Has God's Word and Work failed? In this sermon Pastor Pete introduces us to the heart of Paul who was willing to be forever cursed for God's people to come to faith. This amazing example should serve to cause us to give careful consideration to our own view of the lost and our attitude of great sorrow for our loved ones salvation. When God gives such abundant grace and amazing blessing one would think that would be enough to draw, save and guarantee salvation. To whom much is given, much is required. What are the lessons of Romans 9:1-5? Bring it Home as you Listen for LIFE!

Bibliology, Lesson Two: Inerrancy – Are the Scriptures Reliable?

Lesson Two: Inspiration and Inerrancy - Are the Holy Scriptures Reliable? Pastor Pete leads this class looking at some errant views of inspiration, how the inspiration of the Biblical text take place, arguments for inerrancy, other historical texts in comparison to the Biblical text, the basis for inclusion as Scripture and why the Apocryphal books are rejected in the Protestant Bible.

Bibliology, Lesson One: Inspiration and Revelation

In this class we discuss how we came to have our Bibles.  Holy men of God were inspired by God's special Revelation of His every word and the very Words of God.

“The Spirit of Intimacy”

What or Who do you love the most? The Scriptures are very clear on this subject. Matthew 22:37-40 tells us we are to love God first and foremost above ourselves or anything else. To ignore this precept is to essentially break all of the ten commandments. Loving God helps us to love others; serving God helps us to serve others. The centrality of our intimacy with God has everything to do with the core and passion of our hearts and lives. In Romans 8:28-39 we see the “SPIRIT OF INTIMACY” – (The Believer Has a New LOVE). This famous passage tells us two essential truths from the heart of God Himself through the pen of the Apostle Paul: 1.) No Accusation Will Ever Stand Against True Believers, (8:31-34) and 2.) No Separation Will Ever Exist Between the Savior and True Believers. (8:35-39) As Pastor Pete concludes this amazing Spirit filled passage in Romans 8: Bring it Home, Take it Home as you Listen for LIFE!
